Joint Fact Finding is a method of engaging independent technical experts or scientists in an examination of key issues in conflict in an existing dispute. The parties agree to the choice of experts (suggested by a neutral). The experts (often with different disciplinary backgrounds or technical approaches) summarize what is known and what is unknown regarding an agreed upon set of questions. The neutral summarizes their findings and provides these to the parties.
